School Admission Services

Navigating the school admissions process can be confusing and stressful.  Drawing on over thirty years of experience, Denise Buchanan helps families to identify, explore, and make the most of options and opportunities. We offer comprehensive, tailored counseling and tutoring services to promote informed, strategic thinking and to develop each student's personal and academic strengths. 

The scope of admissions counseling is best determined after the initial meeting with Mrs. Buchanan. One component of this meeting is to discuss whether follow up work would be advantageous. In some cases it makes sense to schedule follow up meetings on an ad hoc, as-needed basis. In other cases it is preferable to agree on a package for continuing services.

Mrs. Buchanan's meeting and preparation time for school admissions services is billed at $400 an hour. Follow up packages of three hours or more are billed at $300 an hour.

Jill Salisbury on our tutoring team works with Mrs. Buchanan to prepare students for independent and parochial school admissions tests, including the ISEE, SSAT, and HSPT. Ms. Salisbury's time is billed at $175 an hour.
